Notes : A blend of salty succulent malts, Rock Oyster is easily my favorite in Douglas Laing’s Regional Malts series, and this bottle in particular is probably my favorite >$100 blended malt. I love the salt, citrus, cream, and faint smoke or char on this. It beautifully and harmoniously combines a variety of island malts into a cohesive dram that just makes sense. On the nose - Wave soaked rocks and a salty oceanic, fresh influence. Palate - Subtle - carrying soft and rather sweet peat paralleled with smoke, honey, damp ash, liquorice and late pepper.
